Queer Black Voices Dinner & Screening Fundraiser

aGLIFF’s Queer Black Voices Fund Committee will host a special evening in the Draylen Mason Music Studio at KMFA on Thursday, August 24, 2023, awarding grants to the three filmmakers at PRISM 36, celebrating their work, and raising money for future queer black creatives. Guests will have an opportunity to meet the filmmakers, view their short films, and hear from each on the inspiration behind their films and creative process.

The evening includes Red Carpet arrivals and a cocktail reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. A buffet-style dinner will be served by Mashae’s Catering followed by the awards presentations and screenings.

Legacy Honoree Party

Join aGLIFF as we celebrate the 2023 Legacy Honoree, director Darren Stein, at a special 10th Anniversary Screening of his queer cult classic G.B.F. + an official after party at The Austin Eagle on Saturday, August 26. The screening will take place at the Galaxy Theatres Austin at 7pm (Red Carpet at 6:15pm) before we move over to Austin’s hottest new gay club The Austin Eagle where we’ll dance the night away. Darren will be in Austin for the weekend with G.B.F. writer George Northy. Cast appearances are pending resolution of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike - we stand in solidarity with them and support their efforts.

Admission to the after party is included with a festival badge or admission ticket to the G.B.F. screening. Purchase of a G.B.F. ticket or Darren Stein 3-Film Package includes one drink ticket good for beer or a signature drink at The Austin Eagle. This event is included with an aGLIFF membership or badge purchase when you reserve a ticket; a limited number of $25 general admission tickets are available for purchase here.
