Doors at 6pm, Dinner and Live Telecast at 7pm
Get Ready to Glam it Up!
General Information
Event Timeline:
- 6pm - Doors open and Red Carpet celebrations with FREE Titos refreshments begin at 6pm
- 6:30pm - Plan to arrive by 6:30 because Rebecca Havemeyer & Mocha Jean Herrup’s opening Oscar number will begin at 6:50pm
- 7pm - The 82nd Annual Academy Awards begin at 7pm
- Dinner guests are welcome to enjoy the entire Mezzanine party throughout the evening
- Raffles for great prizes like a night’s stay at the Driskill, AFF passes and aGLIFF memberships will run throughout the night
- 9:30pm - Silent Auction closes
- 10:00pm - The Oscar Pool winner will be announced at the end of the Oscars. You do not have to be present to win…but it will be a lot more fun if you are!
Attire:
- Glam it up!
- We would like for you to come dressed for the Red Carpet, but we are NOT requiring that you dress formal. Many individuals, however, have told us that they are looking forward to wearing suits, tuxes and gowns. Others are making costumes from their favorite movies
- This is Austin; be yourself…but know that you have to make it past ol’ Rebecca Havemeyer and there will be gifts awarded for best dressed!
Arrival:
- Valet parking is available, located at the Brazos entrance for $10
- There are also numerous parking garages nearby that will likely have spots for $5-$7 since it will be a Sunday night
- Check-in to the party will begin downstairs in the Driskill lobby
- All tickets are being held at will call. If you paid through Google Checkout, you may bring your receipt, but this won’t be necessary
Dinner Guests:
- We encourage you to decorate your tables! For those interested, tables will be ready for decorating by 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 07th. A special Sandra Lee award for best table decorations will be awarded
- You will have access to the private dinner areas as well as the general Mezzanine party. Please encourage friends not attending the dinner to still come and enjoy the Oscars in the Mezzanine where light fare and Titos refreshments will also be served
- Vegetarians – please contact aGLIFF so that we may give the Driskill a rough estimate regarding the number of vegetarian options needed
- There will be three fantastic specialty cocktails, all provided courtesy of Titos. There will also be a cash bar
Oscar Pool:
- Your entrance entitles you to a chance to enter the Oscar pool (i.e. a chance to win $500!)!
- Please visit http://www.nightatoscars.com/register.aspx to make your selections early.
- Also - please share the link to the Oscar pool will friends that can’t make it to the Oscar party! We are asking for a $20 donation to play and proceeds go towards aGLIFF & The Paul Kirby Emergency Fund
Rooms:
- The Driskill has provided special event room rates for Oscar party guests. Please call them at 512.474.5911 to secure a room!
- There is one room/suite left off of the Mezzanine party. If you would like to reserve the suite, please contact aGLIFF directly at 512.538.8488
