MY GAY MOVIE (MGM)
The Austin Gay & Lesbian
International Film Festival is now accepting submissions
for its its 7th annual My Gay Movie Competition.
First-time and novice filmmakers are invited to submit a short film
(no longer than 10 minutes) with a "queer sensibility" to
compete for a $500.00 cash prize and the chance
to screen their film at aGLIFF's 21st annual festival.
This year's competition is open to residents of Texas, as well as
to residents outside the state with films set in or about Texas.
Entries must be on DVD; be no longer than 10 min; and have lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender subject matter. Entries must be postmarked or dropped off by May 15, 2008. We are seeking short films from first-time, amateur and budding filmmakers. All types of media are welcome, including live action and animation. A preliminary judging committee will make selections from all works accepted, and finalists will have their films screened on September 2, 2008 in Austin. One winner will receive a $500.00 cash prize as well as the opportunity to screen their film at the 21st annual Austin Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival, happening throughout the city between September 3 and September 7, 2008.
To compete in MGM 2008, send your DVD, along with your contact information and a $10.00 screening fee to: aGLIFF c/o MGM; 1216 E. 51st St., Austin TX 78723. Checks may be made payable to aGLIFF. Film submissions should be postmarked by May 15, 2008. Please note materials will not be returned once submitted.
